Founder and President
Dr. Jason Hartman founded Spark Orthodontics in 2010 with one mission, to provide affordable orthodontic care for patients of all ages. Dr. Hartman is a native of Berks County and is passionate about providing orthodontics for patients across Pennsylvania.
He received a Bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After working as a chemist for Johnson & Johnson, Dr. Hartman felt a calling to help people boost their self-esteem and confidence by improving their smile.
Dr. Hartman then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, receiving his D.M.D. degree and graduating near the top of his class. At Penn, he received several awards, including the University of Pennsylvania Achievement Award for excellent performance on the National Dental Board Examination. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg where he became passionate about braces and orthodontics. He then spent an additional three years attending Columbia University to specialize in orthodontics, receiving both a certificate in orthodontics, as well as a Master’s degree for his cutting-edge research in the field.
When not at work, Dr. Hartman enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, skiing, cheering on his favorite Philadelphia sports teams, and giving back to the community. He and his wife, Kirby, are parents to five children, including a set of twins.
