Clear aligners for all ages

Invisalign use a series of clear, custom-made aligners instead of the brackets and wires of traditional braces. There’s nothing to poke or pinch, and you can still eat what you want, you just take the trays out first. At Spark Orthodontics, kids, teens, and adults across Central and Eastern PA use Invisalign to straighten their smiles without most people ever noticing.

How Does Invisalign Work?

After a free Spark Smile Assessment, we use 3D imaging to map your treatment from start to finish. We can even show you how your teeth will look before treatment begins. From there, we order a custom series of clear thermoplastic aligner trays. Each tray is worn about 22 hours a day and swapped weekly for the next in the series, and the trays are numbered to keep you on track. Gradually, your teeth ease into their proper position and your new Spark smile comes to life. This works the same whether the patient is nine or 49, and you’ll need fewer office visits than with traditional braces.

With Invisalign clear aligners, pre-teens, teens, and adults get more of a choice in how they live while straightening their teeth. Invisalign and Invisalign Teen® are popular orthodontic treatment options that use a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gradually transform your smile. Unlike traditional braces, patients who wear Invisalign have no brackets, bands, or metal wires to poke or pinch inside your mouth. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign does not require metal wires and brackets to transform your smile. This virtually invisible type of orthodontics use clear aligners, which give you the freedom to enjoy orthodontic treatment on the path to straight teeth without your friends and family ever noticing.

How To Take Care of Your Clear Aligners

Taking care of your aligners keeps them clean, hygienic, and effective. Here’s what we recommend:

  • Clean your trays daily. Use retainer cleaning tablets in a small bowl of lukewarm water, or brush them gently inside and out with a soft-bristled toothbrush and rinse.
  • Skip the hot water. Heat can warp the plastic, so always clean with lukewarm water.
  • Take your trays out for anything other than water. Food and drinks can stain or damage aligners, so remove them to eat or drink, and brush before putting them back in.
  • Use the case. Anytime the trays aren’t in your mouth, they should be in their case, away from small children and pets.

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign

Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic trays that move your teeth little by little. You will wear one set of trays for 1 week, 20-22 hours per day, and then switch to the next set in the series. Your dental health choices will be completely discreet, and you will never have to hide your smile! Schedule your complimentary Spark Smile Assessment to find out if you are an Invisalign candidate!

Invisalign offers a cleansing system; however, you can also simply brush your retainers and rinse them in lukewarm water every time you brush your teeth. When removed for eating, they should be carefully placed in their protective case and kept out of reach of small children or family pets.

With Invisalign you can eat what you want. Simply remove the trays and enjoy a lack of dietary restrictions. Still, be sure to brush your teeth before returning your trays to your mouth.

The cost of treatment with Invisalign is different for each case. Some mouths require longer treatment or supplemental appliances. The team at Spark Orthodontics will be able to fully address that question after completing your complimentary Spark Smile Assessment.

Every mouth is different, your length of treatment will depend on your particular case. The team at Spark Orthodontics will be able to establish a realistic timeline for treatment at your complimentary Spark Smile Assessment.

Most patients report noticeably less discomfort than with traditional braces. There are no metal wires or brackets to press into your gums, and some pressure after switching to a new tray is normal and usually fades within a day or two.
