Invisalign®

With Invisalign braces, kids, teens, and adults simply get more choice in how they live while straightening teeth. Unlike those wearing traditional braces, patients who wear Invisalign clear aligners can still enjoy pizza, popcorn, and other foods they love.

Invisalign® has no brackets, bands, or metal wires to poke or pinch inside your mouth. This helps you stay happy with any activity or meal you enjoy. You’ll require fewer treatments, too, which means you’ll get to spend more time with friends and family doing the things you love.

How Does Invisalign Work?

With Invisalign, we use advanced 3D computer imaging technology to chart your child’s progress from start to finish. We can even show you in advance how straight and attractive their teeth will look once we are finished with Invisalign. After a free Spark Smile Assessment, if Invisalign seems right for your child or teen, we custom order a set of clear thermoplastic aligners to ease their teeth into proper placement, bit by bit. Each patient will receive a series of Invisalign trays that need to be worn for 22 hours per day. Each week you will change out your Invisalign clear aligner for the next aligner in the series, and they are all numbered to help you stay on track. Gradually over time, you will see your teeth getting straighter and that new Spark smile come to life!

With Invisalign clear aligners, pre-teens, teens, and adults get more of a choice in how they live while straightening their teeth. Invisalign and Invisalign Teen® are popular orthodontic treatment options that uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gradually transform your smile. Unlike traditional braces, patients who wear Invisalign have no brackets, bands, or metal wires to poke or pinch inside your mouth. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign does not require metal wires and brackets to transform your smile. This virtually invisible type of orthodontics uses clear aligners, which give you the freedom to enjoy orthodontic treatment on the path to straight teeth without your friends and family ever noticing.

What To Expect With Invisalign

Dr. Hartman: “Hi, this is Dr. Jason Hartman and I wanted to congratulate you on starting your Invisalign journey! I wanted to review a couple of things with you just to help you get the best results possible with your Invisalign treatment.

Number one: 22 hours a day is our goal number. Okay, so each tray, try to wear it for 22 hours a day. 150 hours is actually the target mark for us, so if it takes you 8 days, or 9 days, or 10 days to get to 150 hours, we prefer that you do it that way. So while 22 hours is our goal and every seven days you switch your trays, 150 hours is really the target mark, and it’s fine if it takes you a little longer to achieve that.

Number two: Be careful about what you eat or drink with Invisalign in your mouth. You really shouldn’t eat anything with Invisalign trays in your mouth. You should always remove your Invisalign trays from your mouth before you eat. Also, remember that the trays are made of plastic and they will absorb the pigment of the things that you drink. So the only beverages you should really drink with it are clear- so water only. If you have to have your coffee during the day, we get it, I drink a lot of coffee myself, you can have coffee, just drink it through a straw. If it gets inside the trays it will stay in your trays.

Number three: Your speech may sound a little bit funny to you over the next couple days- that’s completely normal. Don’t get discouraged by it. Wear your trays as much as possible. Speak a lot, read out loud. The more you talk, the faster your tongue will get used to it.

We look forward to seeing your ‘Sparktacular’ smile when you’re all finished. Thanks again for choosing Spark.

How To Take Care of Your Clear Aligners

Taking care of your Invisalign clear aligners is important to keep them clean, hygienic, and effective in straightening your teeth. Here are some tips to help you take care of your Invisalign clear aligners:

  • Clean your Invisalign trays daily. Buy retainer tablet cleaners and use them in a small bowl filled with warm water to clean your aligner trays once a day. You can also use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean your aligners to brush them inside and out and give them a quick rinse.
  • Don’t eat or drink anything other than water with your aligners on. Your Invisalign trays absorb color pigment when you eat or drink and can stain or become damaged if they’re not taken care of. Be sure to remove your clear aligners if you’re eating or drinking anything other than water.
  • Store your clear aligners in their case. When you’re not wearing your aligners, avoid wrapping them in a napkin or tissue. Store them in their case to keep them clean and prevent them from getting lost or damaged.
  • Don’t use hot water. Hot water can warp or damage your aligners, so always use lukewarm water to clean them.
